The Protocom SMSC allows for high performance sending and receiving of short messages for CSP's to implement a new SMSC solution. However, for CSP's that want to leverage existing SMSC investments we can easily integrate via SMPP or SS7 to create a federated SMSC capability.
Protocom's SMSC has been built from the ground up as a dedicated Mobile Originated SMS Gateway (MOG) and Mobile Terminating SMS Gateway (MTG). Utilising Protocom's SS7 stack, the MOG allows CSP's to offload some or all of its inbound SMS traffic either transactionally (into a message switch) or directly into a message store.
Protocom's Mobile Terminating Gateway (MTG) enables CSP's to terminate message traffic onto their own and other CSP's networks. The MTG also supports transactional messaging or can use Protocom's inbuilt message store. With an easily configurable retry engine, the MTG can easily be customized to the CSP's specific needs.
Protocom Intelligent Message Switch (PIMS): PIMS is used to implement real-time transactional message routing. The PIMS solution is a high throughput transactional message switch with an in-built database and rules engine enabling high throughput real-time routing of the CSP's messaging traffic.
PIMS allows a CSP to apply rules to all its messages in real-time and apply rules down to a per subscriber level, rules such as barring, billing and diverting, Black/White Listing, SMS Out-of-Office, Parental Control, SMS Archiving, Content Filtering, SMS-to-Email, Time of Day Filtering, Anti-Spam, SMS Diversion, Keyword Filtering, SMS Drop Copy and Signature Insertion.
Protocom SIGTRAN Stack is uniquely positioned to help CSPs switch to an all IP network based on 3GPP standards. Protocom's SIGTRAN Stack is highly stable, scalable and used by Tier 1 Telcos and CSPs.
Telcos globally are moving towards SIGTRAN networks, replacing expensive SS7 networks. Protocom's SIGTRAN Stack is a complete plug and play product that can be deployed directly interfacing with SIGTRAN network elements.
A wide range of critical products like SMSCs, vHRLs, vMSCs, USSD, and other VAS solutions can be easily integrated with Protocom SIGTRAN Stack for message delivery over IP.
Protocom's Sigtran Stack is extremely stable and proven with Tier 1 Telcos globally. Our SIGTRAN Stack provides :
Our SIGTRAN Stack Supports standard billing with customized CDR format for operators and supports real time charging with multiple interfaces.

Protocom Intelligent Message Switch (PIMS) is our Message Gateway for Telcos and Communication Service Providers (CSPs) looking to implement real-time transactional message routing - PIMS is ideal. Built specifically for Telco's, the solution is a high throughput transactional message gateway. With it's in built database and rules engine it enables high throughput real-time routing of a Telco's Messaging traffic.
PIMS allows a Telco to apply rules to all its messages in real-time and apply rules down to a per subscriber level, rules for a multitude of Value Added Services such as barring, billing and diverting, Black/White Listing, SMS Out-of-Office, Parental Control, SMS Archiving, Content Filtering, SMS-to-Email, Time of Day Filtering, Anti-Spam, SMS Diversion, Keyword Filtering, SMS Drop Copy and Signature Insertion.
PIMS, our Message gateway is out flagship messaging product designed to allow Telcos and CSPs to centralise the management of their messaging network.
Using our gateway, Telcos and CSPs can offer up to 10,000 Message Delivery Attempts per second, all standard and current SMPP compliance, the ability to interconnect to 3rd party systems, the ability to route numbers to binds or applications, Traffic distribution control, Message Concatenation for long messages, delivery receipts, plus more!
Integrated with Protocom's SS7 SIGTRAN Stack and Messaging gateway, the vMSC provides the ideal start point for an operator's Home Network Routing (HNR). HNR is a vital key stepping-stone to open a raft of value added services and applications to offer the operators' customer base.
Due to the high use and popularity of messaging with subscribers, now is the right time to deploy HNR and build VAS (value added services) and VAA (value added applications) such as Protocom's Mobile Policy Manager.
Deploying a vMSC allows a CSP to unlock a suite of value add messaging offerings to the CSP's customer base as they can intercept every single message arriving on their network enabling a host of over-the-top value added services.
Our HNR solution can integrate into any existing operator's infrastructure or integrate directly via Protocom's Solutions. Protocom's HNR solution deploys a Home Location Register (HLR) and Mobile Switching Centre (MSC) proxy that gives total control of all messages terminating on the network.
The Protocom HNR handles messages in a way that alleviates message storage for messages from foreign Telco's that cannot be immediately delivered.
This allows Telco's to :
Protocoms Mediation Platform accepts activations from a CSP's IT systems via graphical or machine-to-machine interfaces and activates services across a host of network elements.
The mediation platform allows a once-off integration to a CSP's BSS layer to activate services into a range of messaging products. It is an activation and assurance overlay to the CSP's network elements (SMSC, MMSC etc.). It is capable of aggregating data from multiple systems to provide a simple interface to view subscriber data from a multitude of diverse network elements.
Our product is designed to abstract the complexities of Network activation interfaces to OSS systems and expose a less complex collection of services to manage a customer account.
Why Use Protocom's mediation Platform? Typical network design principals are built on the premise that core network elements (SMSC.s IN.s etc.) are robust and complex to change. Our Mediation Platform provides an interface to mediate between FoH, OSS and self-service to query and activate services on your core infrastructure. This provides:
